Four Situations

Practical help at the moments a business needs it.

Your proposal identifies the exact work, deliverables, timeline, and fee.

01

Starting a business

Getting the financial side right from the first month.

  • Accounting-system and QuickBooks setup
  • Chart of accounts and opening balances
  • Initial cash forecast
  • Owner-pay considerations
  • Tax-structure discussions coordinated with your legal counsel

Possible deliverables. Depending on the scope, deliverables may include an accounting-system setup, chart of accounts, opening balances, initial cash forecast, or written next steps.

02

Fixing the accounting

Books that have fallen behind or no longer tie out.

  • Reconciliation and balance-sheet review
  • Cleanup of prior periods
  • Tax-ready records
  • Reporting improvements
  • A monthly-close process

Possible deliverables. Depending on the scope, deliverables may include cleanup findings, corrected records, reconciled accounts, or a monthly-close checklist.

03

Planning a decision

Numbers you can rely on before you commit.

  • Cash-flow forecasts and budgets
  • Profitability analysis
  • Financial projections
  • Owner compensation review
  • The financial information a lender asks for

Possible deliverables. Deliverables may include a forecast, budget, profitability analysis, or financial model with documented assumptions.

04

Managing a change

An acquisition, a new owner, a new location, or a process that has outgrown the business.

  • Acquisition financial analysis
  • Accounting integration after a purchase
  • Ownership changes and buy-ins
  • New locations
  • Financial-process improvement

Possible deliverables. Deliverables may include acquisition financial analysis, an accounting integration plan, or a written action plan with responsibilities and target dates.

Pricing

Quoted by project after an initial discussion.

Project work is priced as a defined engagement. After a consultation, your proposal identifies the exact work, deliverables, timeline, and fee. Work outside the scope is quoted separately before it starts. One-time projects are available on their own; an ongoing fractional CFO engagement is not required.

What this work is not: the firm does not provide legal services (formation documents and agreements come from your attorney), audits, reviews, or other assurance services, certified business valuations, or financing. Tax outcomes depend on the facts and the law and are never guaranteed.

After the Project

Some projects end with the deliverable.

Others show that the business would benefit from ongoing accounting oversight or fractional CFO advisory. That is a separate decision, made after the project, never a condition of it.

Common Questions

Projects and startup support.

Do I need an ongoing engagement to hire the firm for a project?

No. Projects are quoted and delivered on their own. Some clients later choose accounting oversight or fractional CFO advisory; that is a separate decision made after the project, never a condition of it.

How is a project priced?

Quoted by project after an initial discussion. Your proposal identifies the exact work, deliverables, timeline, and fee before work begins. Work outside the scope is quoted separately before it starts.

Can you set up QuickBooks for a new business?

Yes. Setup can include the chart of accounts, opening balances, bank and card connections, and a walkthrough of the routine that keeps the books current. The proposal defines the included configuration. Payroll implementation, sales-tax compliance, and ongoing support are not included unless the proposal says so.

What if the books are several months behind?

That is a cleanup project. Depending on the scope, we review what exists, reconcile accounts, correct the balance sheet, and return records that are ready for the tax return, with a written list of what was found and fixed. The proposal defines the periods and accounts covered.
